Act as a technical expert in automated testing for Java microservices.
Coach developers to adopt strong unit, component and contract testing practices and embed quality early in the SDLC.
Drive a microservices testing strategy: Unit, component, contract, and simple, maintainable end-to-end tests.
Encourage developers to run containerized services locally to avoid integration issues and keep pipelines clean in a trunk-based development environment.
Design and validate integration tests between Java services and AWS Lambda functions.
Work in Agile / Scrum, be able to lead in refinement sessions, improving user stories and acceptance criteria, and promoting BDD practices (3 Amigos, Gherkin/Cucumber).
Collaborate across teams to ensure consistent quality practices and continuous improvement in frameworks and pipelines.
Leading the quality space across multiple teams in a "service family."
Requirements
Working with other Quality Engineers to Build and maintain automated tests using: Java (JUnit, Rest-Assured) and Pact for contract testing.
Tools like Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright for UI testing (where applicable).
Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to support trunk-based development.
Strong experience in Java development and test automation.
Knowledge of microservices testing strategies.
Solid AWS platform expertise, including Lambda (for Java integration), API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Proven ability to work in an Agile / Scrum environment.
Experience with CI/CD and trunk-based development.
