About this role
Role Overview
Financial and accounting support (90%)
Maintain full accounting records (bank reconciliations, journal entries, accounts receivable and payable follow-up, billable expenses, etc.)
Coordinate the client billing process (issuing invoices and following up on receivables)
Manage the full monthly and quarterly accounting cycle (period closes, adjusting entries, depreciation and year-end preparation)
Prepare and ensure compliance of tax filings (GST/QST (TPS/TVQ), DAS, CNESST, etc.) and manage communications with government agencies
Ensure rigorous and proactive financial management (budget monitoring, cash flow, process optimization, support to management)
Contribute to the preparation of internal financial reports and support decision-making with reliable data
Provide administrative support for finance and HR activities (documentation, follow-ups, organized filing)
Payroll management and employee administration (10%)
Independently manage the entire payroll cycle (EmployeurD): timesheets, absences, payroll production and data validation
Ensure compliance with government remittances and prepare year-end slips (T4, Relevé 1, etc.)
Keep employee records up to date (payroll, benefits, legal obligations)
Contribute to the smooth administrative functioning of the office (coordination, team support, occasional reception)
Requirements
College or university diploma in accounting, administration or a related field
Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally in an SME or professional services firm
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and payroll administration
Good knowledge of Quebec labour legislation
Meticulousness, attention to detail and analytical mindset
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities
Autonomy, professional judgment and initiative
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Team player with a service-oriented approach
Ability to adapt in a changing environment
Proficiency with computer tools (Office suite, accounting software, ERP, etc.)
Interest in AI tools and process improvement
Excellent command of French (spoken and written) and good knowledge of English
Asset: knowledge of other Canadian jurisdictions
