Accounting Technician, AP

Role Overview

• Perform a variety of general accounting tasks to compile, prepare, review, and verify financial and statistical records
• Create, organize, maintain, and update files and records utilizing database and spreadsheet software
• Maintain an audit trail of documents and records
• Create report formats and prepare necessary accounting and financial reports
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, journals, ledgers, logs, worksheets, and other records
• Classify accounting transactions and verify the accuracy and completeness of the accounting data
• Communicate with and provide technical support to both internal and external clients
• Abstract data reflecting financial condition and operating results
• Examine accounts to verify the accuracy of accounts and adequacy of supporting data

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of progressively responsible experience that demonstrates possession of accepted accounting principles and practices
• Experience with accounting software, accounting functions and performing accounting duties
• Intermediate experience with Excel
• Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required
• An Associate’s Degree in accounting (Preferred)
