About this role
Role Overview
Lead and coordinate EI&C design across APLNG upstream gas facilities and aluminium refining infrastructure, including brownfield modifications and sustaining capital works
Take ownership of EI&C deliverables, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and client standards
Deliver design for systems including HV/LV power distribution, MCCs, instrumentation, and control systems integration
Manage design execution across local teams and Global Design Centres, ensuring effective workshare and consistency in delivery
Support long-term program delivery, balancing multiple work fronts across operational assets
Develop scope definitions, cost estimates, and support planning for ongoing and future works
Drive a digital engineering approach, using intelligent models and data-driven workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to designers and modellers across geographically distributed teams
Conduct design reviews and verification to ensure compliance with hazardous area requirements, industry codes, and client specifications
Build strong, enduring relationships with client stakeholders across both energy and processing sectors
Requirements
Extensive EI&C design experience within upstream oil & gas (preferably coal seam gas) and/or heavy industrial processing (e.g. alumina refining, mining, petrochemical)
Strong experience delivering design for operating facilities, including brownfield upgrades and sustaining capital programs
Proficiency with Autodesk (e.g. AutoCAD, Plant 3D), Bentley Tools (e.g. MicroStation) and/or AVEVA tools, including working with intelligent models and integrated design systems
Experience working in 3D project environments, supporting layout, clash avoidance, and quantity tracking
Solid understanding of EI&C systems, including: Power distribution and reticulation, Motor control centres, Field instrumentation and installation, Control systems (PLC/SCADA/DCS environments)
Familiarity with hazardous area design requirements relevant to upstream gas facilities
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate teams across both local and global delivery environments
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work closely with operators, engineers, and project managers
The ability to manage competing priorities across a portfolio of concurrent projects
