Role Overview
- Support construction projects within a project team environment
- Develop and define project scope with project sponsors
- Develop specifications, cost estimates, and drawing reviews
- Provide engineering support during construction phases for building and utility projects
- Oversee architectural engineering firms in the development of concept designs, construction documents, and cost estimates
- Coordinate and interact with facility staff and contractors
- Perform structural engineering calculations and technical evaluations
- Support construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and construction inspections
Requirements
- Must have active DOE L clearance or a DoD secret clearance to be considered
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering
- Experience performing structural engineering tasks, including development of contract documents, calculations, and cost estimates
- Working knowledge of building codes and standards
- Experience with construction administration, including submittal review, RFIs, and construction inspections
- Potential for telework up to 20%
- Desired Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Engineering consulting experience
