Role Overview
- Perform computer-aided mechanical engineering design including component design and packaging engineering
- Negotiate with design stakeholders and manage risks
- Analyze and solve complex mechanical engineering problems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement innovative mechanical solutions
- Contribute to the overall product architecture design
- Identify, articulate, and manage risks associated with mechanical, thermal, electrical, and optical systems
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers and technical experts
- Track and drive tasks through to completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines
- Develop and manage internal and external relationships
Requirements
- 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field
- 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field
- 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic
- Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to translate requirements into tasks and completed designs
- Ability to anticipate and develop mitigations for technical program risks
- Ability to perform fundamental analysis working from first principals
- Experience with SolidWorks CAD tools
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Experience with fabrication and methods of manufacture
- Strong systems thinking and ability to understand complex product architectures
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies
- Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret clearance.
