Serve as the national Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mechanical Seals and Gasket products across the Motion network
Elevate technical capability within the sales organisation while driving profitable growth of the sealing category
Provide national SME for sealing products (gaskets, fluid control, mechanical seals), providing advanced technical expertise and application guidance
Review operating conditions (pressure, temperature, media, shaft speed, compliance) to ensure correct product selection and engineered solutions
Support complex quotations and national projects, including failure analysis and root cause investigations
Ensure alignment with supplier standards and industry best practices in all technical recommendations
Provide cross-divisional technical sales support, including joint customer visits with sales teams
Identify conversion, upgrade, and value-based solution opportunities to drive revenue growth and margin improvement
Develop and deliver structured technical training programs to build national sealing competency
Create and maintain technical documentation, application guides, and mentor teams in solution-based selling
Collaborate with Product Management and suppliers on portfolio alignment, new product introductions, quality issues, and market feedback
Support governance and continuous improvement, including warranty reviews, process standardisation, compliance, and operational best practices
Requirements
Technical expertise in sealing products, pump systems, and rotating equipment
Experience in application engineering, technical sales, or MRO/industrial distribution environments
Strong engineering capability, including interpretation of technical drawings and specifications
Mechanical engineering qualification or trade background desirable (CAD experience advantageous)
In-depth knowledge of mechanical seals, sealing systems, gasket materials, and pump fundamentals
Proven ability to deliver technical training, communicate effectively, and support both independent and team-based work environments
Highly organised and adaptable professional, with strong problem-solving skills, time management, ability to work under pressure, and commitment to Health & Safety
