Leads the development and the implementation of O-I global policies and procedures.
Provides the plants with “hands on” coaching and support.
Monitors health and safety performance with a data driven approach, identifies trends and patterns, acts proactively.
Drives “culture change” through leading by example, coaching, mentoring, and engaging people at all levels.
Develops EHS capabilities across the organization.
Ensures plants have proper tools and resources to progress in Health and Safety.
Acts as a subject matter expert on health and safety.
Identifies and shares best practices.
Oversee health and safety legal compliance (regulatory horizon scanning).
Conducts training activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or equivalent
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment performing Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety activities or similar related experience
CSP, CIH or CHMM or equivalent certification required
Fluent in English required / Spanish a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety processes and practices and successful implementation through hands on activities.
Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with site/regional leadership and site health & safety professionals as a business partner.
Proven capability to drive significant changes in a multinational and multicultural environment
Ability to creatively resolve problems and identify solutions through collaboration when required.
Ability to prioritize work with limited direction from supervisor.
Proficiency in written and oral communications skills.
Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office software.
