Gather medical records and other information needed to assess ongoing benefit eligibility
Communicate with Policyholders and their authorized representatives and respond to verbal and written inquiries
Record information in claim files and input data into electronic systems to track activities and claim status, to disburse benefits and to produce management reports
Process, maintain and manage claim tasks and repetitive template payments for RPU/APU claims
Responsible for requesting and filing Attending Physician Statements and Continuance of Disability forms on RPU/APU claims
Participate in special projects as requested, and perform other related job functions as required

Requirements
High school degree; Associates degree preferred
2–3 years’ experience in an office environment
Insurance industry experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred
Expert knowledge of disability insurance
Excellent cognitive ability, analytical skills, organization, and recall
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
General knowledge of all operations functions
Organization and attention to detail
Solid Customer service skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work individually and as a team player
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment
Fluent in Spanish preferred
