Leads and coordinates the All Funds business and financial reporting for the School of Medicine and key components of Woodruff Health Science Center.
Ensures compliance with university and external regulations.
Manages fund accounting, prepares financial statements, and collaborates with academic and administrative departments to support budgeting, projections/forecasts, and fiscal planning.
Drives financial results through collaborating and leading the departments through accurate standardized reporting to meet strategic goals.
Coordinates with the controller's team to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting processes.
Provides recommendations for strategy, vision, and direction by continuously analyzing existing systems and processes, identifying needs for new systems, and developing proposals for improvements.
Instills a culture of continuous improvement and effectively adapts to dynamic environments by driving critical initiatives and identifying enhancement opportunities.
Serves as a key technical resource for the Dean's Office, department chairs, administrators, and the finance group.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 10 years of related financial experience, including management experience.
A CPA, MBA, or CFA is preferred.
Fund accounting and financial reporting knowledge and experience are desirable.
An understanding of emerging technologies and their application to university information systems and experience in auditing and internal controls are desirable.
Ability to provide innovative leadership in a dynamic environment and to work collaboratively with multiple constituents.
Knowledge of and ability to apply, interpret, and implement GAAP.
Knowledge and understanding of accounting systems.
Advanced analytical skills to review and analyze complex financial information.
