Role Overview
Manage all environmental aspects associated with site assessment, environmental audits, field construction projects, dewatering, and environmental/stormwater compliance.
Direct/lead a diverse group of engineers, environmental scientists, and project technical specialists with varying levels of experience.
Perform tasks related to stormwater compliance, environmental investigation, and remediation projects, including field work, sampling, site visits, remediation system evaluation, troubleshooting, and interpretation of technical data.
Conduct site visits to assess field conditions, support project implementation, and provide technical oversight during investigation, construction, and remediation activities.
Evaluate remediation system performance, identify operational issues, and troubleshoot system components to improve effectiveness, reliability, and overall system operation.
Provide hands-on support for remediation system operation, maintenance, inspection, and optimization.
Collaborate with clients to support remediation requirements from preliminary assessment through remediation construction, including field implementation and system performance evaluation.
Direct and implement soil, groundwater, sediment, air, and soil vapor sample collection, and provide oversight of investigation and remediation subcontractors, including analytical laboratories and drilling companies.
Prepare technical reports; remediation analysis and design; and bid documents.
Manage consultant and contractor firms in terms of technical, budgetary, regulatory, and scheduling requirements.
Maintain communication with multiple clients and regulatory personnel.
Maintain effective working relationships with clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.
Create and maintain records of purchase orders, field work orders, and client communications.
Provide technical support for client communications, project planning, and related business support efforts as needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
5–15 years of progressively responsible experience in environmental consulting, remediation, environmental compliance, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience managing environmental investigation and remediation projects.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations, remediation technologies, stormwater compliance requirements, and field investigation methods.
Experience with remediation system operation, troubleshooting, and optimization preferred.
Knowledge of soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, sediment, and air investigation and remediation practices.
Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client communications.
Strong technical writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in both office and field environments.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard environmental data management and reporting tools.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or other relevant professional certification.
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and current refreshers.
Experience with environmental construction oversight and dewatering systems.
Experience working with state and federal regulatory agencies.
