Advise senior leadership on high-impact cases, providing strategic guidance and recommendations for appropriate resolution
Serve as a key legal partner to business leaders, collaborating across functions to anticipate legal risks, support initiatives, and deliver timely, practical legal solutions
Manage outside attorneys in all aspects of litigation facing the enterprise, including construction defects, personal injury, environmental, employment, land use, and contract disputes
Manage matter-level financial responsibilities, including oversight of moderate outside counsel and settlement spend
Assist in the preparation of litigation and risk reports to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors
Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
Lead and mentor lower-level attorneys and legal professionals
Requirements
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the U.S.
10-15 years of relevant legal experience, preferably managing in-house litigation at a publicly traded corporation
Experience advising executive leadership on complex legal, regulatory, and risk-management matters
Strong leadership skills with experience managing legal teams and external counsel
Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, balancing legal risk with business growth
Prior experience in a senior in-house legal role or comparable law firm position
