About this role
Role Overview
Assists in providing engineering support in transmission line design
Supports development of conceptual and detailed designs
Assists in preparation of job packages, drawings, technical reports, and other documentation
Participates in project teams to support planning, design, and execution activities
Supports construction activities by responding to field questions and assisting with issue resolution
Learns and applies engineering standards, codes, and company procedures
Assists in evaluating design options and identifying solutions to engineering problems
Develops technical skills through training, mentoring, and on-the-job experience
Maintains accurate records, files, and documentation
Builds positive working relationships to support coordination of work activities
Demonstrates professionalism and supports company goals
Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience for Engineer II position
Internship, co-op, or academic experience in the utility industry (preferred)
Exposure to transmission line design theories and principles (preferred)
Familiarity with transmission line design software (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER)
Basic understanding of engineering codes and standards (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop solutions with guidance (preferred)
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills (preferred)
Effective written and oral communication skills (preferred)
