Role Overview
Ensuring the DMS Power Flow and Advanced Applications run correctly
Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight
Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
Maintains accurate records and files
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
two (2) years minimum required related experience for Engineer II
four (4) years minimum required related experience for Engineer III
A master’s degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
Experience in the utility industry
Experience working in the Electric Utility power distribution systems
Foundational understanding of Transmission & Distribution work processes
Foundational knowledge of Distribution Control Center and Grid Management processes
Foundational knowledge of DMS/DSCADA/OMS systems including Power Flow Analysis supporting the advanced functions
Foundational understanding DMS/DSCADA substation and field device operations characteristics and functional checkout
Proficient in engineering theories and principles
Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
