About this role

Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle database software across AWS RDS environments
Perform proactive performance monitoring, SQL tuning, and resource optimization
Ensure database availability, integrity, and reliability through automated monitoring and alerting
Develop and implement robust backup strategies
Enforce database security policies
Troubleshoot database issues
Create and maintain documentation for processes, architecture, configurations, and operational runbooks
Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Python, SQL automation, Lambda workflows, and Step Functions
Support database migrations and upgrades across environments

U.S. Citizenship
Possession of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relevant experience
Security+ CE Certification, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA with in-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture
Strong expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and system optimization
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages such as Bash or Python
Familiarity with database automation and monitoring tools, including AWS RDS, CloudWatch, and PeopleSoft monitoring integrations
