Clinical Counselor – Employee Assistance Program

Role Overview

• Applies advanced clinical counseling knowledge to determine appropriate intervention and action steps
• Handles telephone counseling to address member's mental and emotional disorders, conditions, addictions, and Worklife concerns
• Counsels members on mental health, substance abuse benefits, community treatment resources, and related mental health programs
• Coaches members on coping skills to address ongoing lifestyle management
• Develops strategy to provide intensive case management and consultation for clinical risk cases and management referrals
• Maintains accurate and complete documentation of required information to meet risk management and regulatory requirements
• Coaches and trains junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities

Requirements

• 1+ year of hands-on crisis intervention experience
• Valid unrestricted independent professional behavioral health clinical license
• 1+ years of EAP, Behavioral Health or Social Services experience preferred
• 2+ years of crisis intervention skills preferred
• Familiarity with brief therapy models and Motivational Interviewing preferred
• Call center work experience preferred
• Strong rapport-building skills preferred
• Strong computer and literacy skills preferred
• Experience in handling mental health, psychiatric care, family situations and relationship concerns preferred
