Provide legal counsel on complex business transactions supporting merchandise and private brand teams
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, merchandising, and development contracts
Deliver timely, pragmatic legal advice aligned with business objectives
Partner closely with merchandising, procurement, marketing, and product teams on initiatives impacting product sales and distribution
Advise on legal risks and help develop practical solutions to support business strategies
Manage and coordinate external counsel as needed
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations impacting merchandising, product development, and marketing

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active State Bar membership in good standing
4+ years of relevant transactional legal experience
Retail, fresh food, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry experience
Familiarity with: Private label and branded products, Retail promotions and funding structures, Franchise relationships, Intellectual property matters, Product labeling, marketing, and regulatory requirements
