About this role
Role Overview
Record and categorize daily financial transactions
Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
Prepare journal entries and maintain documentation
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of financial records
Reconcile bank, credit card, and merchant accounts
Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly
Maintain reconciliation schedules and supporting files
Process vendor bills and manage payment schedules
Maintain vendor records and AP aging
Ensure invoices are accurate and properly approved
Issue customer invoices and track collections
Apply payments accurately
Monitor AR aging and follow up on overdue balances
Support month-end close activities
Prepare basic financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet)
Generate reports for internal review
Support payroll processing and recordkeeping (Client-Dependent)
Organize documentation for tax preparation and compliance
Assist external accountants or CPAs as needed
Requirements
1–2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
Full-cycle bookkeeping exposure (AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting)
Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping
Experience working with US-based businesses or financial standards
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal English communication
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Full-charge bookkeeping experience (Preferred)
Multi-entity or multi-currency exposure (Preferred)
Payroll or sales tax experience (Preferred)
Accounting or bookkeeping certifications (Preferred)
Experience supporting audits or tax filings (Preferred)
Accounting software: QuickBooks Online or Xero (Required)
Spreadsheets: Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel (Required)
Communication tools: Gmail/Outlook, Slack, Zoom (Required)
Online banking platforms (Required)
Additional accounting platforms (QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, Sage) (Preferred)
Payroll systems (Gusto, ADP, Paychex) (Preferred)
AP/expense tools (Bill.com, Melio, Expensify) (Preferred)
Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, Square) (Preferred)
File management and project tools (Google Drive, Notion, Asana) (Preferred)
