Perform and lead structural design for substation facilities, including foundations, steel structures, equipment supports, and miscellaneous structural components.
Support projects through all phases including conceptual design, detailed engineering, permitting support, and construction administration.
Work closely with electrical engineers, designers, and other disciplines to ensure coordinated, constructible designs.
Provide technical guidance and review of designs prepared by junior engineers and designers.
Participate in client meetings, respond to contractor RFIs, and provide construction support as needed, including limited travel to project sites.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering (structural emphasis).
6+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, preferably including substation or industrial facilities.
Experience designing concrete foundations and structural steel systems.
Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ACI, AISC, IBC, ASCE).
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
