Embed finance systems best practice and ensure the suite of systems is efficient and effective
Manage and participate in systems development projects pertinent to the BDUK Finance team
Ensure swift resolution of issues with current functionality through collaboration with various teams
Develop systems needs analysis regarding the future systems strategy
Ensure that the full capabilities of financial systems are leveraged to maximum benefit
Responsible as the BDUK Finance SAP focal linking in with the broader BDUK support team
Oversee finance change requests and opportunities for improvements
Interface for finance for all financial systems within BDUK
Support broader functional initiatives as appropriate
Requirements
Typically, 3–8 years’ experience in programme/project accounting, cost control or commercial finance
Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., aerospace, defence, construction, engineering, IT programmes)
Proficiency with financial systems including ERP systems (SAP S4 HANA), EVM Systems (e.g. Deltek Cobra), Microsoft products (Teams, SharePoint, Azure DevOps)
Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA)
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modelling); familiarity with Power BI/Tableau is desirable
Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements
A self-starter, comfortable with challenging established processes and driving improvements
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to explain complex financial information to non-finance audiences
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines
Current legal authorization to work immediately in the United Kingdom
