Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

• Prepare technical specifications for power electronics and hardware planning, taking into account regional grid connection conditions and project requirements
• Design and develop specifications for power supply units based on international design codes and standards (IEC, NE, ATEX, CE)
• Develop electrical system architectures, electrical system requirements, schematics, cable harness drawings, single-line diagrams and field cabling
• Collaborate in teams to develop new products in the MW-scale electrolyzer module sector
• Design and develop complex busbar and cable connections
• Support development of plant layouts with consideration of electrical design
• Prepare equipment specifications (transformers, rectifiers, switchgear panels)
• Approve, review and produce design documentation (e.g., cable schedules, single-line diagrams, load plans)
• Serve as point of contact for electrical engineering inquiries
• Create bills of materials/equipment lists and single-line diagrams
• Perform cable sizing and cable calculations
• Conduct risk assessments to ensure the quality and safety of our products
• Review technical documentation produced by external engineering firms
• Carry out technical evaluation of power supply units and make final supplier selection based on qualitative, technical and commercial considerations
• Manage FEED, basic and detailed design phases as well as technical follow-up and communication with suppliers
• Manage budget, schedule and quality objectives and determine total plant costs in collaboration with other teams and suppliers
• Manage supplier documentation during the tendering phase and throughout project execution

Requirements

• Degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical Engineering or related field)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical and hardware planning for process engineering in large-scale plants
• Thorough knowledge of current European and North American electrical standards and regulations
• Experience with electrical protection schemes
• Experience handling technical documentation and specifications
• Familiarity with hardware planning using CAD systems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational and managerial skills and a proactive working style
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, with flexibility and problem-solving ability
• Fluent German and English, both written and spoken
