Controls Application Engineer

Role Overview

• Support, develop, and implement Niagara based systems, programs, and graphics to meet client or design requirements
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing programs as needed
• Design BAS systems (including flow and wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and sequence of operations) based on customer requirements or MEP design documentation
• Develop engineered submittal and O&M drawings and documentation using industry standard CAD programs
• Oversee installing subcontractors for scope and quality control
• Perform point-to-point verification and troubleshooting
• Perform BAS startup and commissioning activities to deliver a complete system to the client
• Design, implement and troubleshoot OT networks as they relate to BAS and other building technologies
• Provide technical support to District Service personnel and clients for building controls applications
• Assist in resolving complex technical issues and provide guidance on system integration
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for control programs, system designs, and library updates
• Develop and deliver training programs for Daikin BAS engineers, technicians, and other team members to enhance their understanding of Niagara 4 programming, OT networking, building automation systems and their implementation and troubleshooting
• Conduct regular training sessions both in-person and remotely

Requirements

• 5+ years related experience including BAS
• Preferable experience in design, programming, graphics, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Bachelor’s degree
• Proven experience in programming building automation control applications
• Strong knowledge of Commercial and Industrial HVAC systems and their operation
• Familiarity with building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)
• Ability to travel as needed to support District Service offices
• Demonstrated expertise in BAS design, programming, graphics creation, startup, and troubleshooting
• Tridium Niagara based controls, Lynxspring, or similar open protocol systems and BAS architecture experience strongly preferred.
