Government Operations Consultant II

Role Overview

• Provides direction, guidance and technical assistance for workforce programs
• Conducts research of federal and state statutes, regulations and other governing authorities to develop, review and update programmatic policies, procedures, guidelines, and state and local plans
• Evaluates the impact of statutes, regulations and governing authorities on operations, identifies potential problems, and recommends appropriate action
• Provides direction and guidance to agency management, program administrator and staff in the management and operation of programs and responsibilities
• Consults with management on the development and implementation of training and technical assistance to improve workforce program outcomes
• Investigates, assesses, analyzes, and makes recommendation(s) to resolve issues and problems presented by management staff
• Consults with staff members to develop solutions for programmatic operational problems
• Participates in quality assurance reviews, assists with or prepares reports, and follows up on concerns
• Provides feedback on updating quality assurance tools, as needed
• Participates in data validation on site reviews, as needed

Requirements

• Level 2 security background screening required
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or four years of equivalent work experience relevant to this position
• At least two years of experience researching federal and state statutes, regulations and other governing authorities for a state or federal-funded program
• At least two years of experience providing training and technical assistance for a state or federal-funded program
• At least two years of experience working with workforce programs
• Professional writing experience
• Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) certification is a plus
