Lead the vision, strategy, and implementation for the Senior Care Clinics service line, focusing on quality, integration, access, and expansion across Sutter Health’s designated geography.
Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans and business cases for care growth, strategies for serving dual eligibles, value-based care (VBC) initiatives, and population health management, including capacity planning, philanthropy, research, and physician recruitment.
Identify opportunities for market growth, program development, and strategic partnerships that advance senior care and the overall senior-focused agenda.
Position Sutter’s Senior Care Clinics as best-in-class with external stakeholders, including payers, leveraging clinical gap analyses, accreditation benchmarks, and innovative care delivery models.
Maintain operational responsibility and oversight across assigned senior care clinic locations, ensuring harmonious relationships among departments, foundations, medical groups, hospital entities, and PACE centers with a focus on the integration of acute, ambulatory, and home-based care.
Collaborate cross-functionally (medical, compliance, HR, finance, IT, analytics, operations) to integrate and operationalize VBC priorities, driving alignment with Sutter Health system-wide initiatives.
Lead performance management, monitoring key indicators for clinical quality, patient and physician experience, patient access, and utilization, using data-driven dashboards to track progress across the service line.
Standardize clinic policies, protocols, administrative agreements, and digital enablement to promote efficiency and high-quality senior care.
Develop and oversee clinical pathways, care management models, and digital health innovation initiatives aligned with VBC principles.
Implement operational processes and best practices to improve patient outcomes, lower unnecessary utilization, and prepare for value-based payment and risk contracting.
Prepare and execute supply chain, vendor negotiation, and resource allocation plans to standardize clinic products, maximize cost savings, and enable technology adoption.
Build and motivate high-performing clinic teams, promoting physician and staff engagement, leadership development, and retention.
Serve as a senior administrative representative to committees, boards, and external bodies; communicate system, market, and clinical objectives to all key stakeholders.
Facilitate problem-solving, consensus-building, and conflict resolution across the clinics and system.
Requirements
A master’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
15+ years of recent and relevant experience leading senior-focused clinics and related strategies.
Demonstrated clinical and operational proficiency in planning, delivering, and optimizing patient care for older adults consistent with VBC principles and regulatory standards.
Advanced knowledge of healthcare laws, licensing/accreditation, and compliance frameworks.
Strong business acumen, financial planning, and strategic goal-setting capabilities.
Experience integrating multi-site clinical operations, driving process improvement (LEAN or similar), and deploying data analytics to inform decision-making.
Credible executive leadership, effective communication, and the ability to drive change across diverse teams and stakeholders.
Familiarity with emerging senior care trends, digital health platforms, and quality improvement methodologies.
