The Marketing Senior Category Manager provides strategic category leadership for key categories at Castrol and is accountable for end-to-end management of global categories.
They are responsible for fostering end to end category operational excellence through leading teams who manage supply chain risk and maximize value, including sustainability, within their category.
They do this through extensive collaboration across and beyond procurement, including with regional and business resources.
This ensures their category operates end to end with high effectiveness.
On top of that, this person will lead the global Marketing procurement category managing global spend of about USD400m, shaping strategy, driving commercial value, and partnering with business stakeholders to deliver competitive, innovative and compliant marketing sourcing and supplier‑ management outcomes.
Develop and deploy the global marketing category strategy, covering areas such as brand, media, sponsorships, digital marketing, loyalty programmes, creative agencies, branded merchandise and market research.
Requirements
Degree educated
something related to Business, Marketing, Procurement preferred
or equivalent relevant professional experience.
15 to 20 years of relevant work experience with strong people leadership experience.
An understanding of how to ensure strategies flow through to execution in the businesses / assets.
Significant experience in marketing procurement or commercial marketing roles.
Experience in guiding global teams in strategic thinking to uncover insights, create value, and drive innovation.
Strategic thinking with excellent commercial acumen.
An understanding of working in and navigating complex multi-national businesses.
The ability to evaluate innovative solutions and manage risk.
Judgement in order to translate business requirements into a strategic category plan, leading the team to identify and leverage relevant data sources, utilize advanced data tools and platforms to access and analyze complex data sets.
Critical thinking to make informed strategic decisions.
Senior stakeholder networking and influencing skills to ensure buy in and adoption.
Regular interaction with external suppliers and representing Castrol externally are expected.
Effective change management is key to success, requiring exceptional influencing, engagement and storytelling abilities.
Persevering through organizational complexity and resistance to change, key to leading transformational change.
