Role Overview
- Providing day-to-day geotechnical support to underground operations
- Monitoring ground conditions and identifying potential risks early
- Carrying out underground inspections, mapping, and data collection
- Supporting and maintaining compliance with ground control management plans and site standards
- Reviewing development and stope designs from a geotechnical perspective
- Working alongside mining and geology teams to ensure standards are understood and applied
- Contributing to incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Helping maintain compliance with ground control management plans and reporting requirements
Requirements
- A degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related discipline
- Around 2+ years’ experience in underground hard rock mining
- Some exposure to ground control, rock mechanics, or geotechnical monitoring
- Exposure to seismic monitoring systems and geotechnical instrumentation
- Experience with industry software such as Rocscience, Map3D, Deswik, or similar
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to turn data into practical, on-the-ground recommendations
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with a sense of ownership and accountability
- A current C Class driver’s licence
