Reporting to the Operational Regulatory Response Manager, the Operational Regulatory Response Lead plays a key role in coordinating pollution and compliance-related regulatory responses to Section 108 and Reg 61 requests from the Environment Agency.
You'll work closely with administrative, operational and legal teams to coordinate responses to Environment Agency (EA) within expected deadlines.
Ensure that responses appropriately address the ask and are accurate, credible and consistent, following set governance procedures.
Track patterns, trends and changes in volume in requests from the Environment Agency and escalate any emerging risks, opportunities or resource needs to ensure that response standards can be maintained.
Setting response groups up for success with clear communication on requirements and deadlines
Working across the business to gather and coordinate requested information
Sense checking supplied information alongside subject matter experts
Taking a risk-based approach to escalation
Creating consistency across responses with templates and standard working practices
Continuous improvement of processes based on feedback
Benchmarking and identification of best practice with other water companies
Data tracking and trend analysis

Requirements
Experience working within environmental regulation or operational compliance
Experience of working to standards, governance processes, and quality assurance frameworks
Knowledge of Environment Agency processes, including S108 and R61 requests
Experience producing high-quality written reports, responses, and communications
Experience working collaboratively across operational and corporate teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Strong influencing skills and ability to drive alignment towards common goals
Comfortable working in ambiguous situations while maintaining focus on key priorities
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
