Own Backstage: You will architect and build out Backstage so it acts as our central software catalog, holding all the metadata, ownership data, and telemetry for our high-performance engineering systems.
Modernize Deployments: Our current deployment pipelines need an overhaul. You’ll help us move toward modern practices (GitOps, containerization, progressive delivery) so developers can ship code without friction—and without breaking critical financial workflows.
Fix the DevEx: Build "golden paths" and self-service tools that abstract away the complexity of AWS. If a developer needs infrastructure, they shouldn't have to wait for someone to click buttons.
SRE in Capital Markets: Bring your deep Linux SRE expertise to an environment where microseconds matter. You’ll support the upgrade and optimization of our Red Hat (RHEL) environments while we actively migrate latency-sensitive workloads off VMware and into a modernized AWS setup.
Code the Infrastructure: Write clean, highly optimized Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, etc.) to ensure everything we build is reproducible, version-controlled, and tuned for maximum performance.
Pipelines: create and improve the pipelines to drive quality, and ensure that what we deliver does not put our services at risk.
Requirements
7+ years primarily focused on Platform Engineering, SRE, or modern DevOps.
You genuinely care about the developer experience. You have real experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs), and ideally, you've gotten your hands dirty configuring Backstage plugins and data models.
You are a Linux expert, specifically with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). You know how to tune the OS for performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and scale systems under heavy load.
You know your way around AWS and have a track record of moving workloads out of legacy on-prem datacenters (especially VMware) into the cloud.
You are highly familiar with modern CI/CD, container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), and GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux).
You can write solid automation and tooling in Python, Go, TypeScript (helpful for Backstage), or Bash.
Bonus Points:
You’ve contributed to open-source tools or built custom Backstage plugins.
You know how to integrate complex telemetry (Datadog, Prometheus, etc.) directly into developer portals.
Previous experience in Fintech, trading, or capital markets is great, but absolutely not required—we will teach you the domain.
