About this role
Role Overview
Lead electrical design for building systems including power, lighting, emergency power, fire alarm, security, and communications systems
Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable design solutions
Prepare and review reports, calculations, and technical specifications for electrical systems and equipment
Manage project deliverables, including oversight of BIM model development, schedules, milestones, and resource allocation
Provide design leadership and support during contract administration and construction phases
Ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality standards are achieved
Apply national and local codes and standards to ensure compliant, efficient designs
Participate in all phases of projects from concept through construction completion
Mentor and guide junior and intermediate team members
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (P.Eng required or strongly preferred)
10+ years of experience in consulting engineering (healthcare, commercial, institutional, retail)
Ability to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance
Strong experience leading projects across all design phases and contract administration
Deep knowledge of building systems: power distribution, fire protection, lighting, IMIT/communications systems
Strong understanding of applicable codes and standards (CSA, NEC/CEC, ULC, TIA, etc.)
Proven project management and leadership skills
Experience with BIM/Revit (preferred)
Collaborative, proactive, and solution-oriented
Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multidisciplinary coordination
LEED accreditation is an asset.
