Build and maintain Power BI semantic models with a strong focus on star schema, snowflake schema, and dimensional modelling.
Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
Develop complex DAX measures and calculated columns to support advanced analytics and business logic.
Build and optimize SQL transformations within a medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold layers).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across platforms.
Familiarity with the latest advancements in Power BI such as deployment pipelines, dataflows, composite models, DirectQuery vs Import modes, and integration with Microsoft Fabric.
Prepare high-quality management information and present recommendations for implementation/business decisions within strict timelines.
Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to ensure that data is interpreted and validated correctly and work with them to refine data outputs.
Develop an understanding of the business and its operations to determine relevant insights for various business stakeholders.
Build and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric components (Azure Data Factory, Lakehouse, OneLake, Notebooks, Pipelines).
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science/information systems/engineering or maths.
3–5+ years of experience as a Data / BI Engineer or similar role.
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI / Synapse / Microsoft Azure / Fabric tools and architecture.
Proficiency in Power BI , SQL, nice to have Python (PySpark).
Experience with Azure Data Services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse Analytics).
Solid understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing.
Microsoft certifications in Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, or Microsoft Fabric preferred.
Familiarity with data mesh or data fabric concepts preferred.
Exposure to machine learning workflows and AI integrations preferred.
