Role Overview
- Seeking an Associate Substation Structural Engineer with minimum 2 years of experience with a utility and/or utility consulting company doing design engineering.
- Experience with design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations.
- Direct design of civil/structural design components for bid/construction packages for substation projects.
- Perform design calculations and develop construction-grade engineering design drawings, under the supervision of a licensed civil engineer.
- Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected, along with occasional travel for client meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 2+ years of experience or Masters (MS) with 1+ years of relevant experience
- EIT Preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Mathcad software
- Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10, and LPile software, (preferred)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation software preferred
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
