Act as trusted advisor to senior management on all legal, regulatory, and strategic matters across the UK and EMEA region
Lead the regional Legal Department, managing and mentoring a high-performing team of commercial & transactional lawyers (based in Germany and the UK)
Provide proactive, business-focused legal advice across a range of commercial, regulatory, and corporate areas
Collaborate closely with global legal, compliance, and operational teams to align legal strategy with corporate goals
Lead negotiations and draft complex, high-value commercial contracts EPC agreements, equipment supply agreements, subcontractor agreements, long-term services agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, product warranties, performance guarantees and various other contracts
Assist with all aspects of project management and project execution, including drafting legal notices, changing orders, interpreting contract language and providing strategic and business-oriented advice
Litigation and dispute resolution management
Oversee legal risk exposure and mitigation strategies in relation to product liability, IP, transportation, tariffs/duties, and cross-border sales
Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the EMEA compliance framework, including training, reporting, and risk controls
Provide legal support for compliance with EU-level and national regulations applicable to the e-Storage business unit, including the EU Batteries Regulation, WEEE, supply chain due diligence, anti-forced labour rules, and human rights standards
Manage anti-bribery and corruption controls, KYC/AML due diligence, sanctions screening, and regulatory investigations
Develop and implement regional legal policies, contract templates, and internal governance protocols in coordination with global e-Storage legal team
Manage relationships with external counsel to ensure quality advice and cost-efficiency
Act as company secretary or legal representative on governance matters where required by law or corporate structure
Requirements
Solicitor qualified in England & Wales is a must
10+ years of post-qualification experience, gained at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department within a multinational business
Proven track record advising at executive level on complex legal, contractual, and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions
Experience and willingness to lead negotiations of complex commercial contracts
Deep knowledge of commercial law, international trade, and regulatory frameworks in the EU and UK
Experience in the renewables, infrastructure, or energy sector highly advantageous
Demonstrated leadership experience in building and managing legal teams
Fluent in English; Spanish or German fluency strongly preferred; other European languages a plus
Willingness to travel within UK and EMEA as needed
