About this role
Role Overview
- Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of faults in wind turbines
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to wind farms across the LATAM region
- Monitor turbine performance and alarms, ensuring proactive actions to prevent impacts on generation (improvement of LPF)
- Analyze and process technical reports, including CIR (Component Inspection Report) and TSL (Technical Support Log)
- Create and update VGAs (Vestas Global Advisor)
- Act as the technical interface between field teams and engineering/support departments, ensuring alignment and efficient problem resolution
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational performance standards
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the fleet
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and the standardization of best practices
Requirements
- Technical or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Prior experience working as a Senior Technician or Specialist in industrial or energy environments
- Experience in operation and maintenance (O&M) of wind turbines is a relevant advantage
- Essential technical knowledge: yaw system driven by gearmotors and gears
- Hydraulic blade pitch systems or similar systems
- Electro-hydraulic systems
- First-level analysis of medium and large bearings, preferably focused on wind turbine blade bearings
- Strong fault analysis and technical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electro-hydraulic diagrams, with the ability to correlate them to operational data
- Knowledge of predictive monitoring tools and systems
