Support strategic communication efforts that increase public awareness, name recognition, community engagement, and donor understanding of the mission and impact
Support campaigns and initiatives that strengthen community engagement and donor awareness
Support the development and maintenance relationships with local media outlets, including traditional and non-traditional media sources
Assist with media outreach, press releases, media advisories, and public announcements
Coordinate media coverage opportunities for organizational events and initiatives
Manage and maintain the organizations social media accounts and content calendar
Develop engaging digital content that aligns with the organizations mission and branding
Monitor engagement metrics and recommend strategies to increase reach and audience engagement
Assist with website updates and electronic communications as assigned
Collect stories, testimonials, photos, and videos from members, families, volunteers, and staff for publication and promotional purposes
Create written and visual content for newsletters, social media, annual reports, donor communications, and marketing materials
Support communication and promotion for fundraising events, community events, Club activities, volunteer activities, and donor engagement opportunities
Collaborate with fundraising, program, and leadership teams, to support organizational communication priorities
Ensure messaging consistency across departments and communication platforms
Requirements
Bachelors degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, media relations, or digital content creation preferred
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Experience managing social media platforms for an organization or brand
Basic graphic design, photography, or video editing experience preferred
Familiarity with social media analytics and content management tools preferred
Excellent judgment and professionalism in representing the organization publicly
Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and communications channels simultaneously
Ability to travel locally to work sites, events, and community activities as needed
Occasional evening and weekend availability required for events and community engagement activities
Final candidates must clear a background check and drug test.
