Lead and manage the Quality Control team at the work site to ensure effective execution of all quality-related activities.
Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements are met during project execution, following approved documents and Jord’s procedures, including the Event Note System, Inspection Report Database, and Job Hub
Conduct workshop audits as directed by the line manager and distribute audit reports through the Audit Report Database
Perform supplier technical audits and assessments and develop and maintain a pre-qualification database (Job Hub) to assess process capabilities and ensure alignment of a supplier quality system to established international standards
Identify inspection criticality and risk assessment for the project components, prepare MR ITPs during bidding and ordering stage, specifying the inspection controls and developing mitigation plans required, in order to get a good cost / benefit ratio
Liaise with Project Managers on contract review and conflict resolution at the early stage of the project and review of technical deliverables, preparation of project quality plans and addressing other quality requirements to ensure compliance to project execution
Manage Technical queries on materials, welding and quality related issues at work site in consultation with JI QA Engineer / Line Manager
Attend kick off meetings, pre-inspection and other meetings for critical items and packages and coordinate quality control activities at the supplier sites and liaise with the third party and client inspectors as required
Manage receipt, in-process and critical stage inspections at Suppliers to ensure that quality items dispatched to site
Ensure project schedule compliance by coordinating between Project Management and vendors to resolve operational issues and maintain project delivery on track
Ensure schedule compliance by identifying execution bottlenecks and promptly notifying key stakeholders through the Inspection Report Database and/or Teams calls, while providing practical solutions to overcome the identified shortfalls.
Submit weekly inspection reports and Job Status report in approved format based on Project Needs via inspection report data base.
Identify non-conformances, raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
Verify effective close-out of NCRs and recommend areas for continual improvement.
Perform root cause analysis and capture lessons learnt for implementation in subsequent projects to avoid reoccurrence of quality issues and associated failures
Perform failure analysis in coordination with external parties
Adhere to all Jord company policies and IMS requirements
Requirements
Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
Minimum 15 years shop experience in pressure vessels according to ASME Sec VIII/ Sec IX /Sec V/ API Standards / AS codes, preferably with Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) / SKID Fabrication / Module / Piping.
Knowledge of quality assurance, quality control methods, and manufacturing and inspection practices
Experience and knowledge in manufacturing processes and product characteristics including foundry, fabrication, machining, welding, NDE, heat treatment, painting and coating activities
Knowledge of inspection, test and measurement techniques
Skills in interpreting codes, standards, policies guidelines, client specifications and applying these during project execution
Team player and experience in building and managing a team of skilled professionals
Pleasant communications skills and good interpersonal relationship building skills
Highly proficient in verbal and written communication (English).
