Therapist

Role Overview

• Provide individual counseling to participants at home, in community settings, or in office
• Carry small caseload of 1:1 therapy
• Support youth in building coping skills, emotional regulation and positive decision making
• Collaborate with program staff to align services and support youth progress
• Facilitate workshops or small groups on topics such as anger management, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships
• Work with family support systems when appropriate
• Collaborate with team members for real-time support in crisis or escalated moment and high needs cases
• Maintain up-to-date documentation in databases and trackers when necessary
• Maintain ongoing communication with partners
• Participate in professional development training to better equip yourself to support the program and participants

Requirements

• LMSW or LHMC required, licensed in New York State
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience providing clinical services to young adults that are hard to reach
• Experience working with systems-involved / high risk youth preferred
• Ability to build authentic and consistent relationships
• Experience with group facilitation and crisis response
