About this role
Role Overview
Independently manage complex tender processes and prepare technical and commercial proposals
Calculate project costs in the areas of water conveyance, pipeline and plant construction
Analyze, evaluate and review tender documents and prepare schedules of quantities (bill of quantities)
Prepare and submit complete tender documentation on time
Develop technical alternatives and economically advantageous special proposals
Prepare budgets, cost estimates and robust pricing structures
Obtain, evaluate and negotiate subcontractor offers in close coordination with project management
Prepare and participate in award and contract negotiations
Advise engineering firms, contractors and end customers on technical and commercial matters
Coordinate closely with internal specialist departments to ensure optimal project costing
Assist with project handovers and ensure a smooth transition into the implementation phase
Provide project-related field support as required
Requirements
Degree in engineering (e.g. civil engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering) or comparable qualification
Several years of experience in bid preparation, cost calculation or tendering for infrastructure or plant construction projects
Solid knowledge of water conveyance (e.g. pumps, pipeline systems)
Experience in civil, plant or pipeline construction
Confident handling of tenders, bills of quantities and technical specifications
Experience working with engineering firms, contractors and end customers
Strong understanding of technical and economic interrelationships and a pronounced cost awareness
Fluent German and good command of English
Structured, analytical and independent way of working
Excellent communication skills and confident demeanor with clients
Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel, set priorities and meet deadlines reliably
Solution-oriented thinking and entrepreneurial approach
High initiative and strong team spirit
