Provides engineering/technical guidance to Operations, Maintenance, and other groups
Supports periodic testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned mechanical systems
Evaluates and solves equipment failures, degradation, and operational issues
Initiates and advocates for system reliability improvements
Performs component maintenance optimization for key components
Provides tactical support for day-to-day plant maintenance
Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities
Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, and documentation
Completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
4-6 years of engineering experience for Engineer III
Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, OR 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer for Senior Engineer
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer
Experience in the utility industry
Skilled in mechanical engineering theories and principles
Experience in the mechanical engineering areas, such as pumps, valves, chillers, compressors, heat exchangers, diesels, strainers
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
