Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems
Installs and repairs heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration
Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Performs a variety of complicated tasks
May lead and direct the work of others
Typically reports to a supervisor or manager
Requirements
Freon certification
C.E. in HVAC
Generally required knowledge includes HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques
Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent BJU in an ethical and professional manner
Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Professional in appearance and presentation
Effective in oral and written communication
PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC related software.
