About this role
Role Overview
PM2CM, Inc. provides Program and Project Management, Construction Management and Project Controls services.
The Project Controls Advisor consolidates scope and cost for projects from ~$25M to $1B+.
Ensure projects follow governance processes and assist Project Managers with executive approval.
Develop responses to regulatory and legal requests for estimated costs.
Plan and manage processes for gathering scope and cost from all disciplines.
Analyze cost estimates against historical benchmarks and investigate discrepancies.
Manage documentation for updates and regulatory filings.
Peer review project aggregations with minimal supervision.
Develop Cost Estimates for Transmission & Distribution Substations and related projects.
Prepare scope take-offs based on specifications and engineering drawings.
Estimate material and labor costs using estimating standards and tools.
Collaborate with stakeholders for approvals on cost estimates.
Perform variance analysis on cost estimates at various project stages.
Complete peer reviews of Cost Estimates prepared by team members.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years construction industry experience.
Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
Proficient in computer-assisted design (AutoCAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.
Ability to read, interpret and understand engineering plans and schematics, and soils reports.
Capability to visualize the finished grade production.
Knowledge of Best Management Practices (BMP).
Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings.
Thorough understanding of safety regulations related to assigned projects.
Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be both creative and analytical.
Extremely detail-oriented and accurate.
