About this role
Role Overview
You take the technical lead in expanding and maintaining an effective and efficient implementation of Functional Safety (FuSi)
You ensure the consistent application of FuSi standards for all lighting products within the team and at the department level with product development responsibility
You act as an independent, central and globally responsible authority for reviews, audits and assessments to ensure project compliance with respect to the functional safety of systems and components
You ensure that functional safety requirements are met in development projects in accordance with ISO 26262 through holistic, global governance. This includes defining and implementing methodologies, processes, standard templates, tools and other supporting measures
You prepare requirement specifications as well as system and component specifications within the team, including integration of FuSi requirements
You support the team in using tools (DOORS, DOORS Next, specific methods and macros for engineering tools) and in applying artificial intelligence to increase efficiency
You evaluate critical FuSi issues and escalate them, if necessary, according to clearly defined criteria to the Technical Clearing Committee
You take partial responsibility for system and component development in the lighting domain
Requirements
You have a successfully completed technical university degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics
You possess solid knowledge of Functional Safety according to ISO 26262. Certification to IEC 61508 and experience in FuSa are an advantage
You have several years of experience in Functional Safety, ideally as a development engineer, software developer or in a comparable role at an OEM or Tier‑1 supplier
You have comprehensive knowledge of development processes, especially in the context of software development according to ASPICE®, and practical experience with analysis tools such as Medini Analyze, DOORS, DOORS Next and IQ‑FMEA
You demonstrate strong motivation to integrate new IT tools, macros and artificial intelligence applications into daily workflows
You have experience collaborating with interdisciplinary and international project teams and possess strong communication skills
You have a pronounced vehicle and system understanding, ideally from an OEM or Tier‑1 supplier environment
You are fluent in German (minimum B2) and English (minimum B2)
