Troubleshoot failures and perform root-cause analysis and repairs on Musco electronic products returned from customer facilities
Collect repair data and maintain repair database
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced operations and repair technicians
Assist with design, construction, and maintenance of test fixtures and test systems as required
Assist with developing and documenting troubleshooting protocols
Provide feedback to product developers for design corrections and enhancements
Requirements
Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, completion of military electronics training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years of experience in component-level troubleshooting and repair of electronic products
Experience soldering both fine-pitch SMT and through-hole PCB assemblies
Experience with microprocessor
/ microcontroller-based products
Experience with analog circuit troubleshooting and repair
Experience with switching power supplies preferred but not required
Experience developing automated test systems preferred but not required
IPC soldering certification (IPC-J-STD-001 and/or IPC 7711/7721) preferred but not required
Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits to the component level using schematics in conjunction with common test and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.) and specialized test systems
Ability to solder through-hole and fine-pitch surface mount components
Working knowledge of lab safety practices
Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn, and self-motivated
Ability to work well independently or as part of a team
Basic MS Windows and MS Office proficiency.
