Develop and execute a statewide strategy for school-based strategy that advances the goals of the Children and Families Specialty Plan (CFSP).
Serve as the organizational lead for strategy related to educational rights and educational stability for children and youth in foster care.
Develop initiatives that support compliance with federal and state requirements related to educational protections for children in foster care.
Identify policy, practice and operational barriers that impact educational outcomes for children and youth engaged in the child welfare system.
Establish short and long-term outcomes for children and youth served by the CFSP.
Develop performance metrics and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness of school-based initiatives.
Lead the development of innovative programs that address social, emotional, behavioral and educational needs within school settings.
Collaborate with child welfare agencies, local education agencies, and other entities engaged with the child welfare system to identify and address educational outcomes.
Lead team responsible for development and management of specialized programs and/or initiatives and support execution and implementation to meet business and corporate objectives, budget targets and delivery timeframes.
Advise and communicate with various levels within the enterprise, including senior leadership, regarding programs/projects/initiatives, emerging issues and challenges, state of the industry and additional opportunities.
Act as a technical resource for the team, providing guidance and direction to staff with responsibility for programs/initiatives of varying sizes and complexity.
Manage team prioritization efforts and development of applicable work processes and procedures; ensure appropriate documentation, reporting and delivery in accordance with corporate and industry standards.
Manage employee development initiatives for the team, including coaching, performance feedback and training.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
8+ years of experience in related field.
In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience in related field.
Experience collaborating with North Carolina public schools, local educational agencies, child welfare agencies and state-level partners highly preferred.
Knowledge of state and federal laws governing educational rights and protections for children and youth in foster care.
