You'll be instrumental in the delivery of mechanical and plumbing utilities to ensure that all buildings, and all process equipment demand for utilities are fulfilled.
This includes supply strategy, dimensioning and back-up considerations.
You'll work with design, installation, commissioning, and running-in of major projects, including that all equipment within the factory are supplied where required including: main utility supply strategy, tank requirements and installations, pump supply, dimensioning and redundancy (back-up supply) considerations.
Ensure that the necessary expertise from other departments
environment, safety, MMR’s, are included in the solutions.
Communicate and supervise suppliers/contractors to place orders and follow up to ensure compliance with requirements.
Ensure all documentation / reporting is done and archived following company directives and Group Technology rules, and available tools.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
4+ years working in a similar position, with site installation, mechanical design, machine construction, design specifications
3D modelling using Inventor or a similar program
Ability to travel both nationally and internationally 60% of the time
Extended periods of presence at project sites are required, ie. temporary relocation
Strong communication skills
Adhere to confidentiality with proprietary processes
Preference given to candidates who have smith, mechanic or other type of craftsman expertise.
