About this role
Role Overview
Responsible for purchasing commodity products, chemicals, equipment, and supplies
Manage daily purchase order management and solve complex problems
Support Marketing and S&OP team and assist in pricing and product issues
Own and resolve daily tactical supply chain issues, including backorder resolution
Assist in supplier planning sessions
Proactively analyze and optimize inventory investment
Liaise between Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Suppliers
Ensure purchase orders align with Customer need dates
Evaluate suppliers based on capability, performance, and delivery
Review to prevent/minimize stock-outs
Work with suppliers to improve delivery dates and lead time
Manage supply chain standard operating procedures
Embrace innovation and contribute ideas for improvement
Lead process improvement projects when necessary.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business, or Mathematics or equivalent experience required
2-5+ years working in a procurement capacity
APICS/CPIM certification desirable
Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word)
Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Work experience in a matrix environment desirable
Formal problem solving training highly desirable, i.e. Six Sigma
Strong analytical skills
Strong time management and organizational skills
Focus oriented with attention to detail
Solid negotiating skills
Ability to work independently without direct oversight.
