Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Able to independently manage aspects of the contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing complex contracts.
Legal Review & Compliance: Assist legal team with the drafting and editing of legal language, compliance issues, gathering necessary information and preparing documents for internal and external use. Ability to negotiate with third-party vendors and academic medical institutions utilizing guidance from Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Trade Compliance teams. Strong background in utilizing legal playbooks to drive contract negotiations.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work cross-functionally with departments such as Business Operations, Legal, and Research to ensure contracts align with broader organizational objectives and timelines.
Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of contract management processes, systems, and templates to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
Education: J.D. Required
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract negotiations, management, end-to-end, or as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment.
Expertise in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Strong experience in managing the initiation to execution contract lifecycle.
Legal Knowledge: Proficient in drafting and reviewing complex research related contracts in the area of drug development.
Paralegal Capabilities: Strong background in working with Legal and Compliance, with the ability to handle detailed document preparation and support for legal teams.
Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in implementing fallback positions and interpreting nuanced contracting concepts.
Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Problem-Solving: Ability to address complex issues, navigate challenges, and provide proactive, solution-oriented guidance.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with contract management software (e.g., CLM systems), document management tools, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
