Responsible for the profitable execution of fixed-income securities purchases and sales to satisfy the needs of investment portfolio managers, investment managers, customers and others as required.
Executes buy and sell orders for fixed-income securities at prices that are advantageous; considering the size of the order, the trading supply and prevailing market conditions.
Keeps informed of relevant conditions and trends concerning corporate and specialized securities markets to detect changes and to allow for timely planning and action.
Maintains detailed records of all transactions to ensure that accurate accountings are made in compliance with established policies.
Maintains good working relationships with brokers and securities dealers and negotiates prices.
Provides appropriate investment and company management groups with sound and timely information and recommendations concerning market trends, buy and sell activity, fixed-income securities pricing and price volatility and transaction timing.
Requirements
Six months to two years of trading experience in investment and securities industry.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of fixed-income securities and their markets, trading characteristics and approaches, and factors influencing price trends.
Basic knowledge and proficiency in the techniques of trading.
Experience of valuing and pricing fixed-income securities.
Knowledge of trade-related activities occurring on various securities exchange floors and on various electronic trading systems.
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
