RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator – Hepatobiliary, GI Surgery

Role Overview

• Supports hepatobiliary and GI surgical patients through coordination of care, patient education, and communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Blends outpatient clinic support with administrative coordination.
• Works behind the scenes to ensure seamless patient care coordination, surgery scheduling, communication management, and clinical workflow support.
• Schedules surgeries, educates patients on what to expect before and after procedures, and follows up with patients requiring additional support.
• Responds to patient questions in the InBasket, prepares charts for future appointments, coordinates care tasks, and maintains ongoing communication with the surgical team.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
• Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.
