The Technical Onboarding Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the compliant, accurate and technically robust onboarding of heat network metering and monitoring systems across new and existing communal and district heat networks.
The role is responsible for taking a site from survey, mobilisation or client handover stage through to a fully understood and technically validated metering data arrangement.
This includes identifying and mapping all relevant monitoring points, understanding the site’s data communications systems, validating the data analysis systems, confirming data quality and ensuring that metering data is made available to the correct data consumers.
The role supports the regulatory obligations of Insite Energy and Insite’s clients under the Heat Network (Metering and Billing) Regulations 2014, as amended, as well as upcoming compliance frameworks including the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) and the Heat Network Metering and Monitoring Standard (MMS).
The successful candidate will ensure that metering data can be reliably collected, stored, validated, analysed and shared with internal and external stakeholders, including Data Analysis Systems, billing systems, energy management teams, client services teams and ESCo management functions.
Requirements
Experience working with metering systems, data loggers, AMR systems, BMS interfaces, M Bus, wireless M Bus, LoRaWAN, APIs or SFTP data transfer arrangements.
Understanding of how meter data is collected, stored, validated and used by billing, monitoring and reporting platforms.
Ability to understand and document monitoring point arrangements across energy centres, substations, communal distribution networks, district distribution networks and consumer connections.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple sites, actions and technical issues at the same time.
Desirable: Experience working with heat network billing platforms, energy management platforms, IoT platforms or data analysis systems; including data quality checks, reporting and KPI dashboards.
Working knowledge of heat meters, electricity meters, water meters, gas meters, temperature sensors, pressure sensors and meter register data.
Experience supporting mobilisation, onboarding, project handover or operational readiness within a utilities, building services, energy or metering environment.
Engineering qualification, technical qualification or equivalent practical experience in mechanical, electrical, building services, metering or data systems.
