Weapons System Design Engineer

Role Overview

• Conceptualise, design and develop innovative solutions for products or sub-components relating to small and medium calibre Remote Weapon Systems.
• Responsible for hardware design and parts selection.
• Manage the systems configuration, parts integration and product testing.
• Collaborate with other stakeholders in the areas of electrical/electronics integration and software programming.
• Study of requirements or tasks prior to commencement of design.
• Generate design concepts based on performance, safety, cost, manufacturability, reliability and maintainability.
• Use 3D Computer Aided Design software to create models, assemblies and drawings.
• Present and articulate design concepts for design review and discussion.
• Prepare documents and test plans for submission.
• Conduct tests, analyse data and propose conclusions.
• Interact with team members, vendors and customers on a daily basis.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 to 4 years working experience in mechanical systems design (Entry level candidates are welcomed to apply).
• Understanding mechatronics and software design will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, e.g. Unigraphics, Pro-Engineer.
• Analytical, meticulous and a system thinker.
• Independent, self-driven and able to work in a team.
• Willing to travel overseas.
